"You are a widow. You have no right to put on ornaments", these words shocked poor innocent RANI. And the very first dream of her youth was shattered.

She was the eyes and hope of her blind father and she had undertaken all the responsibility of home. And this news of her being widow shocked her. She was working day and night to keep her father happy. She took a job in a theatrical company but the evil eyes of the proprietor forced her to quit the job. After going from places to places she got a job of typist in an electric goods store. Raja's good behaviour won her heart. But could she dream of re-marriage? She had no other way but to end her life. And so one day she took poison.

But the world is not so cruel. There are people who want to help the innocent girls persecuted by tradition. The manner in which Samar Sen helped Rani to live and change the attitude of her orthodox father towards her widowed daughter's remarriage provides a stirring climax to this excellent offering from South provided by National Studios and Asha Productions. Padmini, Shivaji Ganeshan, Raja Sulochana, comedian Krishnan play the important role in it. It is directed by Bhimsingh with musical score VEDPAL.
